I love finding evidence of what man has built. To me, this is real history. It is awesome to see what or ancestors built, whether it be in this century or ten centuries ago. In the interest of trying to reverse the effects of not taking care of myself for the last forty years, I have begun walking around my hometown, Southbridge, and surrounding areas. I’m ashamed to admit it but for so many years I never knew of the beauty surrounding me. The more things change. Now that I am semi back from my self-imposed writing exile I think I will throw out some random thoughts. So much hasn’t happened since I stopped writing regularly.
The more they stay the same. Today I spent some time looking at some of the blogs I created over the past years. The most popular one was called “It’s Clear as Mud” which doesn’t appear to exist anymore. Probably because I didn’t renew the domain name. I also wrote the “Sturbridge Tea Party” blog. Both of these were mostly about politics.
Recently in the Boston area, there have been two separate occasions where the PC crowd has not gone far enough. In the interest of equality for all and not hurting the feelings of any, we must take this to the next step.
Today is Memorial Day. Well technically it isn’t until May 31st but we are celebrating it this weekend. Of course, this is a day to remember those who have passed on, especially veterans of the armed services. And more importantly, those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country, their lives.
It seems that the last ten posts I published have gone missing. Off to cyberspace, it seems. Oh, I know what happened to them, just not where they went to. You see every once in awhile the computer wants to remind I am not quite as smart as I think I am, and this is what happens. Continue reading
